About Us

Michael Pohlman

Mike is the former Managing Member of The Anchor Group and has been in professional services since 1984 and consulting since 1986. He has worked in a wide variety of industries. He began his career performing audits with Ernst & Young but assisted with Tax work as well. Following three “busy seasons” he moved to the consulting service line, assisting with many engagements ranging including Custom System Implementation, Financial Analysis and Business Process Improvement. His final three years were spent as a Project Manager.

Following eight years in Public Accounting and Consulting, Mike transitioned to the role of CEO for a family-owned chain of department stores in West Texas. As part of the business, he successfully implemented an integrated company-wide system utilizing Dynamics GP (Great Plains) as the system backbone. He maintained that position for seven years and also started four additional businesses in the finance, bookkeeping, rental equipment and education industries.

Mike remains as a key member of the Anchor Group in an Advisory Role.

Education

Michael earned his Bachelor’s degree from Oral Roberts University in Tulsa, Oklahoma with Computer Science and Accounting majors with Business and Math minors.

Leslie Vail

Leslie Vail has been working as a Dynamics GP consultant for over 25 years. She began with version 1.0 in 1993. She has been a Microsoft Most Valuable Professional (MVP) since 2007.  Leslie has presented at many partner and customer technical conferences and has conducted training classes throughout North America. Leslie is recognized throughout the industry for her product expertise and contributions to the Dynamics community. In 2017 at the Flagship Conference GPUG Summit, Leslie was awarded the highest award given by the GPUG community as a GPUG All-Star and she was publicly recognized as “serving the GPUG community tirelessly for years and assisting the GPUG community as a partner advocate.”

As a Microsoft Certified Trainer (MCT) Leslie’s training expertise spans the entire Dynamics GP product line. Leslie’s GP mastery is showcased in her teaching on Dexterity, Financials, Distribution, HR/Payroll, Integration Manager, Modifier with VBA, FRx, SQL Server Reporting Services, Report Writer, Crystal Reports, SmartList Builder, Integrated Excel Reports, Extender and System Manager.

Additionally, Leslie serves as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the Assessments and Certification Exams (ACE) Team and she is a member of the US MCT Advisory Council.

In 1993, Leslie launched ASCI, Inc. a consulting firm located in Dallas, TX. In January of 2019, Leslie’s company ASCI, Inc. merged with the Anchor Group and she has joined the Anchor Group in an Advisory Role.

Brad Sweeney – Managing Member

Brad joined The Anchor Group in August of 2011. He has 16 years of experience on the accounting operations side with multiple companies.

He served as Controller for First Choice ER from August of 2009 to August of 2011.

Brad has been a Dynamics GP Consultant for eleven years with multiple Microsoft GP partners.

Brad has a deep belief that the client deserves an immediate response to their accounting systems problems – “We have no answering service…our cell phones are always on. I have been there and know the importance of talking to a LIVE person and getting the help you need when accounting systems produce errors.”

He enjoys spending his free time watching his son and daughter play sports and is active in his church.

Education

Brad received his BBA in Business from the University of North Texas and completed 36 hours of upper level accounting at the University of Texas Arlington. He is a CPA as well as a CFE.

Howard Joslin

howardjoslin_picture1-u10977-frHoward specializes in payroll consulting for the Anchor Group. He has been active in the accounting field for more than 25 years and consulting since 2002. He has completed large-scale implementations of Kronos Workforce Timekeeper and has also designed a program to assist our clients with Affordable Care Act (ACA) compliance.

In his “free” time, he is active in his publishing ministry, Authenticity Book House, which publishes and translates biblical content to resource impoverished and non-English speaking pastors.

Education

Howard graduated from Iowa State University and went on to complete his Masters of Theology at Dallas Theological Seminary.

Geoff Detrich – Managing Member

Geoff Detrich-5235 CROPPED

Geoff is a technology and accounting professional with more than 20 years of consulting and private industry experience, including IT strategy, business process management, and project management. His primary focus areas include ERP solutions, business intelligence, and document management.

Geoff’s ERP solutions experience encompasses industries in manufacturing (discrete/process), healthcare, retail, hospitality, and internet store-fronts. His ERP software background includes both Oracle JD Edwards and Microsoft Dynamics GP. He has advanced experience with SQL Server 2000/2005/2008/2012 including the SQL Business Intelligence Suite including – SQL Reporting Services, SQL Integration Services, SQL Analysis Services, advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel including Power Pivot.

Education

Geoff received his bachelors in Accounting from Oklahoma State University.

Paul Wetzel – Managing Member

Paul enjoys benefitting from over 25 years of consulting in various industries and with various computer, network, and software technologies.  He has a wide range of experience in improving business processes and supporting critical business strategies by directing the development, implementation, and maintenance of business applications software.

Paul is a versatile leader, focused and detail-oriented, who offers a proven track record of success in building strong teams and mentoring them to achieve peak productivity.  Paul also demonstrates a keen ability to align the diverse objectives of stakeholders with those of the team members, software publishers, and technology providers, all while achieving time and budget goals of the project.

Education

Paul received his bachelors in Finance from the University of Florida.
